Without this type of training, situations can escalate and lead to repercussions such as legal action and litigation.

Conquering Difficult Conversations, available on DVD, demonstrates proven communication methods that have been developed, tested, and used by experienced industry experts. Supervisors learn to prepare for and address situations in an objective, businesslike manner. The program is designed to help supervisors feel more confident in their abilities to confront and resolve difficult situations with other employees.

This training series encompasses four individual training topics:

  • Managing Conflict  Discusses the various types of conflict and how best to moderate it.
  • Addressing Personal Issues - Teaches supervisors to address personal issues such as inappropriate dress, family issues affecting work, uncleanliness, and more.
  • Conducting Layoffs and Terminations - Provides ideas on how to handle this process effectively for the best interests of all involved.
  • Providing Performance Coaching - Covers giving employees honest feedback using a performance coaching environment.

Each training program also includes the following:

Program Components (for each topic)

  • (1) 30-43 Minute DVD - Combines engaging video and editing technology with expertise from industry professionals at all levels.
  • (1) Training Guide - Provides background information on personal issues and gives a brief overview of the video.
  • (10) Supervisor Fact Sheets - Recap recap key points from training and make a convenient reference.

DVD Main Menu

  • Play Program - Plays entire main program.
  • Chapter Selections - Allows easy access to specific subtopics for more focused training.
  • Supervisor Q&A - Shows various supervisors asking questions about additional difficult conversations, allowing for additional learning opportunities for the audience.

Basic System Requirements

  • Video card with AGP architecture and at least 4 MB of onboard RAM
  • At least 128 MB of system RAM (Windows 2000, XP and Vista users - 256 MB or more is recommended)
